Skylarkz Presents Popular American Songs
The Friends of Forbes Annual Meeting with an update from the President and Treasurer will be held from 6:30 - 7 PM followed by an entertaining program of American popular song.
Drawing on their backgrounds as musicians and educators, they present a variety of American popular songs and jazz, from the Roaring ‘20s through World War II and beyond.
Between songs they delight listeners with tales about the composers, the culture of bygone times, and the history behind the music. You’ll hear compositions by George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter, and other giants of the Great American Songbook. Music to please the whole family!
During our business meeting before the music program, we will ask for a vote from the membership on the revision of the bylaws of the Friends of Forbes. They are posted at: forbeslibrary.org/friends (Welcome/Contact )
