Nonviolent Peaceforce

The Nonviolent Peaceforce (www.nonviolentpeaceforce.org) uses Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP) to de-escalate confrontations and reduce harm to civilians caught in the midst of civil and inter-tribal wars. They are currently working in South Sudan, Iraq, Philippines, and Myanmar.
Executive Director Tiffany Easthom, who has worked in the field in most of these countries, and Director of Advocacy Marna Anderson will share stories from the field and explain how UCP works and why its effectiveness far surpasses all military, diplomatic, and even UN peacekeeping efforts when it comes to reducing the suffering of civilian populations in the midst of conflict.
