Paintings by Anne Laprade Seuthe and Anne-Marie Taylor
In Variations on a Theme, Anne LaPrade Seuthe shows a range of paintings that depict various aspects of the landscape of Western Massachusetts. She uses a limited palette and simplified compositions that run the gamut from representational to abstraction.
Anne-Marie Taylor earned an M.A. in French and a Ph.D. in History, and was a teacher, writer, and caregiver, all the while dreaming of more time to draw. Finally the opportunity to study art with Nancy Fernald came as a second chance at life. Inspired by such apparently opposite artists as Chardin and Sargent, Anne-Marie believes that art and life are inseparable, and they both have become a quest.
