Reading Buddies with Percy Jackson, therapy dog

 

Sign up in advance to read to Percy Jackson, Bright Spot licensed therapy dog! See staff at the Children's Desk, or call 587-1010 for details.

 
This program was created to help emerging and struggling readers gain confidence in their abilities. Participants sign up for a 20 minute solo session reading to Percy. Because research has shown it's most effective for a reader to read one-on-one in this setting, only Percy and his owner, Cathy, sit in on the session. Pictures and hellos are welcome before the reading begins! 
 
Don't forget to bring a "just right" book with you, or arrive with enough time to browse before it's time for you to read to Percy.
