The Ukraine War: Where is it Heading?
Join us in the Coolidge Museum or on YouTube for a discussion on the future of the war in Ukraine. Two speakers with opposing views will address the questions: Should the U.S. continue arming Ukraine to defend its sovereignty, protect its democracy, and defeat Russia? Or urge Ukraine to negotiate a settlement with Russia before it risks losing even more soldiers, territory, and critical infrastructure, and risks escalating the conflict into a direct confrontation between the US/NATO and Russia?
Speaking in favor of current U.S. policy toward Ukraine will be John Feffer of Amherst, author and Director of the Foreign Policy in Focus project of the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington DC.
Speaking against U.S. policy and for negotiations to end the war will be John Berkowitz of Northampton, long-time activist for peace, economic justice, and environmental protection.
Questions and comments from the audience will be welcome after the two presentations. This event will also be livestreamed on the Forbes YouTube channel.
This program is presented in partnership with Massachusetts Peace Action, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to develop the sustained political power to foster a more just and peaceful U.S. foreign policy.
