Judicial Outreach Month: Ask a Judge!
Every March, judges engage with communities across Massachusetts about their work and the importance of an impartial and independent judiciary. Learn about the work of the judicial branch directly from judges who address a variety of challenging matters presented to the courts every day.
Join us to hear from Deepika Shukla, Associate Justice, Superior Court.
About the speaker: Deepika Shukla serves as an Associate Justice of the Superior Court of Massachusetts and is currently sitting in the Hampden County Superior Court in Springfield. Prior to being sworn in Governor Maura Healey in September 2024, Judge Shukla served for ten years as an Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of the Springfield Branch Office at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts. She also worked as an adjunct professor at Western New England School of Law. Prior to these roles, Judge Shukla worked as a plaintiffs’ civil rights attorney at the Connecticut Fair Housing Center and in private practice. Judge Shukla holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
