Graphic Novel Writing Workshop with Damian Alexander!
Join cartoonist and storyteller Damian Alexander for a graphic novel writing workshop for ages 9-14! Damian will walk us through how he plans his books and give a live drawing demonstration. Participants will leave with the skills needed to get started creating their own comics.
Damian's most recent book, Absolutely Everything, was published in September and received a starred review from Kirkus. School Library Journal said it's, "A warm and sensitive depiction of a neurodivergent character finding her way in middle school. Highly recommended.” His first book, Other Boys, was published by First Second, and received starred reviews from Kirkus and Booklist. Damian graduated with an MFA in Writing for Children from Simmons University and has created short comics and artwork for The Nib, Huffington Post, Narratively, The Trevor Project, and others. When he isn’t doodling or making comics, he loves watching animated movies and caring for his terrariums. Damian lives in New England with his husband, their cat, and dog.
