Lawn Concert by Tim Eriksen and Friends

Original and traditional Americana music from New England, southern Appalachia and the Balkans.

“One of the best singers in music” (T Bone Burnett), Tim Eriksen's imaginative and emotionally charged take on Americana music has led to work with the likes of Alison Krauss and Jack White, and his song “I Wish The Wars Were All Over” was chosen by Joan Baez to be her last recorded musical statement on the 2018 farewell album “Whistle Down The Wind." Known as the frontman of the legendary Cordelia’s Dad and contributor to films including Cold Mountain, his upcoming recordings include a follow up to his Grammy nominated collaboration with Afro-Cuban pianist Omar Sosa, and a duet with “the queen of Romani/Gypsy music” Esma Redžepova. A longtime advocate of community singing who has helped spread American “shape-note” music around the globe, Tim will be joined by musical friends including local shape-note singers who recorded with him on the Cold Mountain soundtrack.

Free for everyone!
Picnics, blankets and low chairs welcome.
Funded by the Friends of Forbes and community donations.
In case of bad weather, the concert will move indoors.
