Forbes Library Zine Club Presents : Queer & Feminist Zine Memoir

Come check out a reading of local & traveling zinesters, putting a queer twist on memoir, history, and creative storytelling. Jordan Alam (Letters to Self), Mae Allard (Giving It Up: Relations of a Celibate Slut), and Elvis Wolf (Homos in Herstory) will present their tales, images, and words - on the topics of personal memory, radical celibacy, and the ghostly, continuing presence of the past. 

Jordan Alam is a writer, zinemaker, and cat mama based out of south Seattle and temporarily in Northampton for summer classes at the Smith School of Social Work. She has helped out with NYC Feminist ZineFests past and worked in the Barnard Zine Library. She is the proud author of a lot of one-off perzines, most notably the micro-mini comic 'What To Do If You Experience Emotional Stress Burnout'. Elvis Wolf is a Brooklyn-based weirdo who draws comics, and lives in a flurry of zines and possibility. They co-founded the NYC Feminist Zinefest with Kate Angell in 2012, and it's been going strong ever since. 

Sarah Mae is a zinester, radical poetess, preschool teacher and caregiver. she has authored Giving It Up; Disgusting; Wild Womyn are Witches: Medea, and is currently working on a Body zine excavating memories and emotions carried within the physical body. she lives in Western Mass with her parakeet, Jupiter, and glamorous beta fish, Judy Garland.
