Film: Documentaries about Rojava

Resistance Film Series of the Northampton Committee to Stop the Wars

“Documentaries about Rojava” show a Kurdish community in the middle of the Syrian chaos, that was abandoned by U.S. forces after years of support. Rojava is home to four million Kurds, Arabs, Syrians and other people who lived there peacefully and with a surprising “social contract”: gender and economic equality with direct democracy – in a Middle East that is still very much male chauvinistic, multi-ethnic and anti-secularism.

Kurdish people living in the Valley will speak after the film to kick off a discussion.

2nd and 4th Wednesdays film series. Free and accessible. Discussion follows.

The Resistance Film series is co-sponsored by The Resistance Center of Western MA and the Northampton Committee to Stop the Wars.

Free and accessible.
