Teen Arts Program: Social Justice and Theatre

Once a month a local artist visits the Teen Arts Program to talk about their work and their life as an artist. This month Trenda Loftin is coming to talk about social justice and theatre. Exploring the intersections of race, class, gender, and sexuality has been at the heart of Trenda's work since she entered college. Much of her work incorporates understandings of identity and strives to call attention to that which is often underrepresented. After spending time as a Youth Programs Educator at The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ), Trenda has jumped into the world of freelance consulting and is working to relaunch her play and workshop series, "When the System Swallows You." Find out more on Trenda's website. Snacks and materials are always provided. This event is for teens only.
