Project Drawdown: 100 Substantive Solutions to Reverse Climate Change

In 2017, environmentalist, author and activist Paul Hawken published the book Drawdown

He brought together two hundred of the world’s leading scientists and researchers to identify one hundred ways to identify, measure, and model one hundred substantive solutions to reduce emissions or sequester carbon from the atmosphere. The solutions are arranged in order of impact with detailed climate and financial models for each.

We will explore some of these solutions including Kent’s upcoming journey to Ethiopia to focus on girls’ education as its order of impact is number six on the list.

Kent Hicks has been building houses for 30 years, and his commitment to mitigating climate change and passion for sharing his knowledge of best building practices have made him a leader in the field of high performance building. He is a Certified Passivhaus Consultant, a long standing member of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA), and an approved Deep Energy Retrofit contractor through the Building Science Corp. There will be time for questions and discussion after the presentation.
