Sufi Contemplations; an Inner Journey
In this monthly meeting we'll be looking at how to access and connect with the inner workings of our mind, emotions, and heart in order to align with our higher self and the Divine. Through the teachings and practices of Sufism--including contemplation/meditation--we will explore and experience the Divine's Most Beautiful Names in order to have a deeper understanding of our life's purpose with acceptance and grace.
What to expect? Each session will begin with a talk on the background of Sufi learning and practices. This will be followed by a centering meditation and a talk on practical spiritual teachings of the inner world of our mind, emotions and the heart in relation to positivity, compassion, acceptance, peace, sustenance and a variety of other topics. Following the discussion, we will sit together in meditation/contemplation. This is an interactive group and there will be plenty of time throughout each session for discussion and Q&A.
Why attend? If you are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the human condition related to our connection with Divine nature, learning ways to find peace and how to use wise discernment to deal with everyday concerns, then this is for you.
Who we are: Kevin and Dianne Germain have been offering Sufi teachings and practices in the Pioneer Valley since 2004 when Kevin was ordained as a Sufi guide from Shaykh Taner Ansari of the Ansari Qadiri Rifai Tariqa (Sufi School). Public teachings and practices such as Sufi meditation, classes and discussions, as well as Sufi nature walks explore all facets of the path and can include mentoring for those who seek individual guidance.
