Film screening and discussion with filmmaker Kevin Friend and historian Barbara Berenson.
Borderland chronicles the life of Massachusetts visionary, Blanche Ames and her pivotal role in the struggle for women’s rights. A true, unsung hero in the attainment of women’s suffrage, although she achieved great things in her lifetime, there is still very little scholarship on her efforts and accomplishments. BCN’s intention, through this film, is to highlight Ames’ contribution to the shaping of the Massachusetts political landscape.
