Pop Up Art School Presents: Hybrid Animal Sculptures

Image of a black and white painted creature with wings In honor of our Make-Your-Own Creatures Week as part of our Summer Reading program, we're hosting Pop Up Art School for their Hybrid Animal Sculptures art program! In this hour-long Zoom class, kids will make a wacky hybrid animal using recycled materials, masking tape and black & white paint. Mash up three or more species to make a surreal sculpture. The class will start with a demonstration of how to use the materials, the instructor will help you problem-solve construction issues while you work and you'll learn how to use paint to finish your piece. Space is limited to 15 participants, ages 8-12. Please use the registration form below to sign up. All registrants will have a free art kit placed on the holds shelf under their last name with all of the materials needed to make the craft. The kit will be available on the holds shelf approximately 2 weeks before the class.

To prepare for the class, please have both the kit we provide and the following available:
● Pencil with eraser
● Masking tape
● Scissors
To finish the sculpture you'll need:
● Cup of water to rinse brush
● Apron or old T-shirt to protect clothing. Acrylic paint is permanent when it dries on
fabric.
● Something to protect your table.
