[VIRTUAL] Marketing Your Artwork, a Workshop with Robert Floyd
Online workshop: Marketing Your Art
Date changed to November 16 and 30
Following a successful in-person workshop on art marketing in 2019, photographer, gallery owner, and educator Robert Floyd returns to Forbes via Zoom to teach an online workshop for artists focused on marketing your art in our rapidly-evolving world.
This is a free, two-part program taking place on Zoom November 16 and 30. Participants will attend both sessions. Preregistration is required: https://forbeslibrary.libcal.
This class is designed for artists who grapple with questions like how to price their art appropriately, where and how to show it -- including online -- and how to connect to resources that will help their careers. We will cover a range of strategies for building an audience, selling and licensing original art in today's ever-changing marketplace. Participants will learn time- and stress-saving business and organizational skills for the working artist.
Floyd emphasizes the need to be a good marketer, as well. "It’s so important," he says. “It’s unbelievably important. You can make amazing art, you can be a lovely person, but if you’ve no drive and no dedication to the marketing, if you don’t focus on that side of it, it’s going to be tough. It’s not the driving force to it, but in terms of survival, it’s a very important area not to ignore.”
Robert Floyd is a photojournalist, an award winning nature photographer, and owner/director of The Robert Floyd Photo Gallery and Learning Center. He also serves on the board of directors of Easthampton Media.
